Bhanu has been a dog which has been making heads turn right from the start. This fact is on one hand based on the circumstance that he is a brownnosed Ridgeback, on the other hand because he additionally displays excellent conformational features - to date still hard to find throughout Europe. Several class wins under international judges testify from his qualities, including tow "Best in Specialty Show" awards from Junior (!) class.

Bhanu descends from prominent australian, american and african lines, which offer a very interesting potential for european breeding (see Pedigree). He represents an elegant, functional type of Ridgeback - fast, efficient and agile - equipped with excellent gait, great topline and angulations.

His character could be best described as very friendly and laid-back. He easily gets along with both humans and animals, he is especially doing well with his "homies", the cats Puma, Mara and Tommy. Bhanu shows good hunting instincts, but he is no problem to control due to his easy-to-handle-character in general. He is also tolerant towards other males and still quite playful. Together with his "Brother" Bheko they are are special team... they are cuddling, playing, discipline and take care of each other :o) He is trained in Obedience and Retrieving.

Bhanu is also proud of his pleasing siblings, who just like him are often praised for their excellent temperaments. Also in the Showrings they show their qualities, sister Kira is a CC-holder and another sister Ani - Multi Ch Hillvalley´s Angel for Luanda, residing in Slovakia- is a real showstar and the first german-bred Livernose ever.

Like for example in most scandinavian countries, it is possible to breed in our Club with a grade 1 result for elbows, because they accept the breed admission from our first Club... however, we have discussed the pro´s and con´s regarding our own personal case and would like to share our thoughts with you in a few words.
Bhanu had a big crash with a heavy, free-swinging object when he was 6 1/2 months old, which hit is left frontside. Since he didnt´t show any signs of pain after it, we had not paid any more attention to this accident.
When we did his x-rays at the age of 18 months we were quite surprised by the result left side ED-1 (right side 0), since any of his evaluated ancestors known to us showed similar results. This was the reason why we went to see a well-known Specialist and do further research and tests. We were glad that Dr. Walla finally let us know, that in his view, a connection between the accident at that problematical age and the elbow-result is most likely, especially considerung Bhanu´s healthy lines.
After all we are convinced that is a not-heritable form, and thus have decided to make Bhanu available at stud.
